The PCA BoldQuad
performs the same function as the PCA FineQuad
in preparing
a base for your cross, only this time in a larger size that is perfect for Latin
American style patterns. Nicely weighted with 4 suitably sharp needles
set in a square, ensuring smooth insertion into parchment without effort or paper
bruising.
-
It also looks good when left uncut as a decorative lace element and in
combination with your PCA UniBold or BoldTwin tool.
-
Wax needles with paraffin based wax before use
-
Perforate lightly the first time as per pattern guides, then after
embossing (if any) reperforate a little deeper to form base of cross
-
May be left as is, without turning into a cross, as a decorative element
that is usually repeated in patterns.
-
Try it in a repetitive even line along
an outer border, embossing a line with the PCA Scriber in between top and
bottom row and removing paper from below. Or a succession of single dots
between each set? How about a gingham fabric look by alternating 4
hole perforations with the BoldQuad with blank squares of equal size to form
a checkerboard effect ?
Experiment!
It is much more useful than just the obvious
pre cross perforator!
This was created using the
BoldQuad alternatively with the Large Suntool as a decorative impression between
each perforation group, forming a patchwork like look.
