PCA FlowerPal
This new double ended tool is designed for use in shaping parchment (or any
paper) flowers, either cut out manually or by using one of the many paper
punches commercially available that are used to make flowers. Naturally it
can be used for any small 3d element but is especially good for embossing
the centres of small flowers and great for paper tole work too, as are
our other embossing tools.
|
Make basic flower shape several times with a paper punch or perhaps a 4
leafed clover type shape from parchment paper, precolouring the paper if
desired with oil pastels on the reverse side (spread with a tissue, fingers,
a piece of panty hose or easily using an oil or solvent, perhaps lighter
fluid)first.
|
Use the end( either depending on flower size) to press in a rocking
fashion, the centre of flower into our Perforating Mat. This mat is
supportive, yet yielding. This encourages the layer of flower petals to curl
up and attain a more natural look in 3d work. |
|
Repeat this action for each layer of petals to form the flower. |
|
The pollen after gluing the petal layers together may be tiny beads
perhaps.. or painted on, or even made with a small circle embossed to a
convex shape and glued to the centre. Use imagination! |
|
Use the larger end to roll along firmly just inside the edge of flower
petals in large flowers to shape the petal edges. This is done on the
Perforating mat also, rather than the Special Embossing mat which is too
hard for this job. The edge will curl up slightly. |
|
Good too for holding flower parts in place as they are being glued. |
